you've got questions...
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network clinician with all insurances. You may use your HSA card or I can provide superbills, but submitting superbills does not guarantee reimbursement so it is important to speak directly to your provider to determine coverage. Also, to be reimbursed by insurance, one partner will be required to submit a diagnosis. We can discuss this further in our first session if this is needed.
What is involved in EFT couples therapy process?
-
Initial 80 minute Initial Intake Assessment
We will take time for both partners to tell me what I need to know to start understanding you and your relationship, what brought you to therapy at this time, and cover a little bit of family history. - 2 Individual 55 minute Attachment Assessments Each partner has a unique lens on the relationship and on life in general. I take this time to understand how each partner's body has learned to take in distress and how they seek/accept comfort. I want to understand each of your stories and how this may affect the current patterns of your relationship.
- If infidelity is involved, I will take additional time and extend the individual sessions to 80 minutes to assess for safety and capacity to safely engage in the vulnerable process of EFT.
- When we come back together, we will do a bit more relational assessment to understand your current cycle and the patterns that keep you stuck. It is important to understand both your emotional and sexual cycle and we will spend time on both as we continue our work together.
How do we get started?
The first step is to connect over a complimentary consultation call to explore if EFT couples therapy is the best fit for your needs. After our consultation call, if you feel comfortable moving forward, we will schedule your first session.
If you feel like we are not a good fit, I am happy to help find referral sources for your relationship.
How much do sessions cost?
Initial 90 minute intake is $200.
80 minute sessions are $180.
55 minute sessions are $140. (See " What is involved in EFT couples therapy process? " for more details.).
I hold a limited amount of sliding scale spots at all times. Please see https://openpathcollective.org/clinicians/jen-perrine for current availability.
Clients are required to save a card on file in the secure client portal.
Your card will be charged after each session.
You may update your card information via the portal at any time.
When can we expect to see change?
Relationship patterns and attachment strategies are built over a lifetime. Patterns ingrained over time take intentional effort and time to shift and change. We will collaboratively build a therapeutic process with relationship circumstances in mind that will make the most of your investment in therapy.
Who isn't a good fit?
It is not generally recommended that couples who are experiencing active affairs, high acuity of addiction, or domestic violence/lack of safety pursue EFT couples therapy. These will be evaluated in the assessment process and referrals will be given when these factors are present before beginning the EFT couples therapy process.
